I’ve been chatting with this guy over the past week or so while he is cementing something near where I am staying.  He’s a really nice, kind man.  One day I asked him about his hat and he says it keeps the sun away, and he makes a new one every day.  I thought it looked cool so I took a pictures.  Maybe I will start wearing one when I get home and start a trend?
I’ve also been sick that last few days.  Man I hate being sick!  Especially when it’s 100 inside and everyone outside is having a good time.  My room is about 15 feet from a major street.  Major street in JA means loud dancehall from about 10am to 3am.  I love dancehall, don’t get me wrong, but it’s hard to sleep to.
Anyway, I’m feeling much better today and I am going to walk up to a waterfall near me and then take some portraits around the neighborhood.
Did I mention I hate being sick?  I hate slowing down.  AND I hate runny noses…

Backayard Magazine hired me to do a shoot today of the one and only reggae/dancehall artist Sizzla Kalonji.  We did the shoot at Judgment Yard in August Town. He’s one of my all time favorites.  This was one of my favorite shoots of my life…
I’m going back in the next few days to shoot again.  Stay tuned

EMI hired me to shoot a portrait of the amazingly talented trumpet player Alison Balsom. Not only is she extremely gifted at her craft she is also a pleasure to be around and easy to work with.  We shot these images on top of the Capitol building in Los Angeles.

I’m not a writer (hence the name of the blog) so I’m just going to let Wikipedia do the talking.  Also you can check out this short interview with her to learn more.

Balsom has been a professional classical trumpeter since 2001. She is a former BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist,[1] and she released her debut album with EMI Classics in 2002. In 2005, she released her second disc, “Bach Works for Trumpet” as part of a contract with EMI Classics. In 2006, Alison won ‘Young British Classical Performer’ at the 2006 Classical BRIT Awards and was awarded the ‘Classic FM Listeners’ Choice Award’ at the Classic FM Gramophone Awards. She won ‘Female Artist of the Year’ at the 2009 Classical BRIT Awards. Her third album (the second disc in the EMI contract), “Caprice” was released in September 2006 and was awarded ‘Solo CD of the Year 2006’ by Brass Band World magazine. Alison was a soloist at the 2009 Last Night of the Proms, performing, among other pieces, Haydn's Trumpet Concerto with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and a jazz oriented arrangement of George Gershwin's “They Can’t Take That Away from Me" with mezzo-soprano Sarah Connolly.

Balsom was the principal trumpet of the London Chamber Orchestra.[2] Her main trumpet is a Malone-converted Bach C Trumpet.

Diego Sebastian is a professional fitness model.  What does it take to get this ripped?  What does he eat? Sleep? Take? Drink? How does he work out?
So I documenting it.  Fun times!  Today is the last day of shooting and then I will put it together with words.  Or information, not technical information but curious information.  Such as, he eats 3 chickens a day or he works out 2-3 hours a day….

Today is the 30 year anniversary of Bob Marley’s death so I decided to put up some pictures of him.  I was in Kingston Jamaica last year shooting a project and shot these images of a concert on the TV.  He was singing the song Zimbabwe.
